Making Progress-Pictures

I have decided to finally post some pictures of my skin. If you are reading this, please note that I am posting because this a VERY good for my skin, and I am proud of my progress.
Neck. This is still by far my most sensitive area, but a month ago it was raw and weeping constantly. I still can't wear any shirts that touch my neck, but it is much better than it was.

My hands are healing nicely, they are still puffy, (they call this elephant skin, I guess?) but I am hoping they will look better as time goes on.

My face, not even any cracks!

My arms tend to get very itchy and I did scratch them a lot last night, but very few small cracks here.

The tops of my feet are scarred, this is the site of my original eczema outbreak when I was a baby.

My ankles and the sides of my feet are still a problem area, and by far the itchiest part of my body.

And just for fun, here is a picture of my darling little boy, Owen, and his perfect skin! :)

I have had several good days and several bad days this past week, but my fatigue is at an all-time high. I am not sure why, but I am hoping it gets better as the week goes on.

  1. We're like twins! ;) I like when the face can stay "normal" looking--it makes going out in public so much easier. But, the neck is seriously the most painful area, isn't it?! When my neck has a "good day", *I* have a good day (even if the rest of my body is terrible). :) I hope the past few days have been going just as well and I hope that you can continue to feel, at least, semi-comfortable! My thoughts are with you!

  3. Thank you Stacey! When I was pregnant, I used to cry and pray that my baby would never suffer with skin problems. So far it seems like my praying worked! He had two very small patches of normal eczema on his feet when he was very small, but I refused to put steroids on him, and they cleared up on their own. :)

    1. Wow! That's amazing to hear! We haven't had children yet, but that has been a very real fear for me. I've actually taken serious consideration of adopting instead of having our own kids--I don't want to pass this on to a child! But, thankfully.... as long as we don't use steroids, it will only be normal rashes (not Red Skin Syndrome rashes)! I'm so glad your little guy doesn't have to deal with this! It's a "good thing" that you were able to find out for yourself and not put him in the same situation that we're in. Something to be thankful for, I suppose! I'll be thankful to have had this experience someday when we have kids--I'll never put them in this situation either.
